The CODE OF ETHICS was adopted by the National Association of REALTORS® in 1913. With the exception of printers, the REALTORS® were the first business group outside the professions of medicine, engineering and law to adopt a Code of Ethics. It was an uncommon event with uncommon men and women making an uncommon commitment to business integrity and fair dealing. Created over 100 years ago, the REALTOR® Code is a living document, amended and revised annually as needed to remain relevant and beneficial in today’s business and legal environment. The REALTORS® Code of Ethics offers the lesson of hindsight, the guidance of foresight, and the understanding of insight.
